If you are worried about filing ITR for the financial year 2019-20, don’t worry. Filing an income tax return is just a 15 minute task. You do not need to find a CA to file your income tax return. Today we are going to tell you the process by which you can file your ITR in a very short time. Let’s find out.

These documents will be required for filing ITR

1. PAN card

2. Aadhaar card

3. Bank account number

4. All necessary certificates on investment information

5. Form 16

6. Form 26 AS

First of all you need to know which category of tax return you have to file and which ITR form you need to fill. For example, the ITR ‘Sehaj’ form is for citizens with a total income of up to Rs 50 lakh. They get income from salary, a house and other sources like interest.

ITR e-filing can be done in two ways

1. Download the ITR form, fill out the form offline and upload the XML file.

2. File and submit all the information directly on an online e-filing portal.

This will be the e-filing of ITR

Step 1.  ITR e-filing, you must first register yourself for ITR.

Step 2.  You need to visit the Income Tax Department website  https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home  .

Step 3.  Here you have to login by entering your user ID (PAN), password, date of birth and captcha code.

Step 4.  Now you have to go to the e-File tab and click on Income Tax Return.

Step 5.  Here first you have to select the ITR form for the assessment year which you have to fill.

Step 6.  If you are filing the original return then click on the ‘Original’ tab.

Step 7.  If you are filing a revised return then click on Revised Return.

Step 8.  Now select ‘Prepare’ and Submit Online and click on Continue.

Step 9.  Then fill in all the requested information on the new page and keep saving at the same time.

Step 10.  Here you have to give all the information about investment and health and life insurance.

Step 11.  After entering all this information, at the end will come the verification page, you can verify it immediately or you can verify in 120 days.

Step 12.  Now you have to click on ‘Preview’ and ‘Submit’ and the ITR will be submitted.

Don’t forget to do the verification

We should not forget to do verification while filling ITR. There are four ways to do this.

1. Through Aadhaar OTP

2. By logging in to e-filing account through Net Banking

3. Electronic verification code

4. By sending a signed copy of ITR-V to Bangalore.

November 30 is the deadline
